How we check votes
Three checks. Four tiers. Nothing hidden.
Every vote gets a tier before it counts. Three separate checks decide the tier, and none of them can see which answer you picked.
Draft, pending legal review. Last edited Oct 10, 2026.
The three checks
Real, unique human? A device check from Apple or Google, a phone code (internet phone numbers are not accepted), account age, one account per device, and known bot and data-center traffic.
Which fan for this game? The team you declared (with a switching cooldown), how long you have followed it, and your activity with its polls. Everything used here existed before the poll opened, so switching teams to vote does not work.
Coordinated activity? Bursts of votes, traffic from outside communities, unusual shares of brand-new accounts, and clusters of accounts on one network.
The tiers
Official: counts in the home, neutral, rival and all-fans verdicts.
All fans only: counts in the all-fans number only.
Held: under review; shown in the "with held votes" view and never in the headline.
Excluded: failed a check; appears only in the Invalid Vote Report.
A confirmed coordinated cluster counts as one vote; it is not deleted. There are no hidden fractional weights.
What you can see and do
- Your own vote's tier and a plain-English reason.
- One-tap appeal: re-verify your phone or device, and a person reviews it within 72 hours.
- Correct your team, or turn off inference so only your declared team is used.
What we publish
For every poll: gross votes, exclusions by category, held and collapsed counts, net counts by tier, exclusions by answer option, and the verdict with and without held votes. Detection thresholds stay private and are opened to an independent auditor.
